Themes:
Great Wall, Forbidden City, Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Ming Tombs,
Grand Canal, Beijing Central Axis
Sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau and organized by the Beijing Comic Society, the “World Heritage in Beijing” 2025 International Cartoon Exhibition attracted creators across 52 countries and regions worldwide to participate, with over 3,000 submissions received. After multiple rounds of selection by experts from the Beijing Comic Society and an international jury, over a hundred outstanding works were chosen. These works encompass diverse styles, including traditional ink-wash paintings and digital comics, using exaggerated, expressive lines and unconstrained creativity to reinterpret the cultural essence of Beijing’s world heritage.This cross-cultural artistic dialogue not only showcases the cultural value of world heritage as a “common memory of humanity,” but also injects youthful vitality into these ancient treasures through the accessible and intuitive art form of comics.
