Croatian cartoonist Damir Novak passed away

الذي كان أحد الفاعلين في مجال الرسوم الكاريكاتورية منذ عام 1982 .. وكان الراحل عضو لجان تحكيم عالمية ويدير مسابقة دولية في كرواتيا وله إسهامات في مطبوعات عديدة

It is with great sadness that we inform the public that our long-time member and colleague Damir Novak has tragically passed away today.
Damir was one of the most successful and award-winning members of the Croatian Cartoonists’ Society. He fell in love with cartooning as a child, and published his first works in 1982 in the weekly Međimurje, where he remained present throughout his career. His cartoons have been published in numerous Croatian and foreign media, and he has exhibited and won awards all over the world.
He has been a member of the HDK since 1986 and has served as a member of the Society’s Executive Board for several terms. He made a special contribution by organizing international festivals and exhibitions, especially through his work with young authors, leaving a deep mark on the Croatian and international cartooning scene.
We will remember him as a dedicated artist, a colleague with a big heart, always ready to help, share advice and encourage others. His passing is an irreparable loss for our profession and for all who knew him. On behalf of the Croatian Cartoonists’ Association, we express our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who loved and respected Damir.
