– افتتح المعرض في بلدة كولاشين، وقد اختارت اللجنة المنظمة 40 عملاً فقط من أصل 1605 لوحة تم تقديمها من 55 دولة لـ 351 رساماً.
وكان موضوع المهرجان هو التسامح والتسوية ، بالإضافة إلى الموضوع المجاني. ودعت كلمات الافتتاح لنبذ الحروب والدعوة إلى التسامح والمحبة بين الشعوب.

The world today is a big caricature
The job of a cartoonist is not a job for a living. It is a mission for which one lives and the world-renowned one knows it best, and ours – Darko Drljević, whom I thank on behalf of Kolašin for fighting for a fairer society all these years, for admonishing us, warning us, ennobling us – Šćepanović said.

Our city has never been more free to speak, to raise its voice and send a message to the whole world, as in the days of the Caricature Festival. Cartoons open our eyes and speak more than a thousand words. If all these works could take off, they would tell us the story that the war raging today on the soil of Europe is as pointless as the need for people to fight that war – said Marta Šćepanović, president of the Municipality of Kolašin, opening the 7th International Exhibition of Festival Caricatures “Kolašin 2022”.

According to her opinion, by watching cartoons, we will look at ourselves, “at our thoughts and feelings, and become aware that the world today is one big caricature”.

– Part of that caricature mosaic was drawn by cartoonists from all over the world, cruelly and realistically. This year, through the prism of tolerance, telling us that there is no compromise without tolerance, and that there is no tolerance without dialogue. The job of a cartoonist is not a job for a living. It is a mission that we live for and the world-renowned, and ours – Darko Drljević, whom I thank on behalf of the Municipality of Kolašin for fighting for a fairer society all these years, who admonishes us, warns us and refines the impoverished spirit of our people. And it is not without reason that a wise writer long ago wrote that “it seems that soon tolerance will reach that level, that the smart will be forbidden to think, because it humiliates the feeling of the stupid”. We will not allow this as long as there is one tireless fighter for justice like those who fight for the highest ideals of peace, freedom, love, equality, solidarity with caricatures – pointed out Šćepanović.

Those present at the opening of the festival exhibition in the hall of the Kolašin House of Culture were greeted by Darko Drljević, a world-renowned caricaturist and the initiator of this festival, which is held and organized with the support of the Municipality of Kolašin and the JU Center for Culture.

– This is the seventh exhibition in a row that accompanies the International Caricature Festival “Kolašin 2022”. We have chosen the 40 best papers from a total of 1,605 papers submitted from 55 countries by 350 authors. The theme of the Festival was tolerance and compromise, as well as a free theme. Both are equally represented at the exhibition. The selection and quality of the works is superb and we are very satisfied with this year’s response from the artists. With this topic, we tried to give an answer, but also a warning to people that every problem and dispute can be solved by agreement and compromise, not by weapons and war. Man is the only conscious being on the planet, and on the contrary, he is the only one who destroys his species. The greatest downfall and shame of the human race is to wage wars. That’s why we gave this topic, so that people think a little better about what they do – said Drljević.
