REŠAD SULTANOVIĆ 1955 – 2025 passed away
رحيل الفنان البوسني رشاد سلطانوفيتش
Born in 1955 in Kladanj, Rešad carried within him a love for his homeland, art and people throughout his life. As a participant and witness of the most difficult times, he made an immeasurable contribution to the defense of our country and people, and is the recipient of the highest municipal award, the Golden Badge for Contribution to the Defense of BiH.
He is a regular member of the Association of Fine Artists of Applied Arts of BiH, the Croatian Society of Cartoonists and a member of the Association of “Cartoonists” Ilidža
He dedicated more than four decades to caricature, an artistic expression through which he depicted the world around him with great spirit and irony.
He participated in over 600 festivals around the world, won more than 30 international awards and around 100 recognitions, and in many cases was the only representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
His caricatures were a mirror of reality, but also a protest against it, smiling but deeply thoughtful, recognizable by his special humor and sharp but noble thought…
His work and spirit transcended boundaries, and his smile, warmth and witty commentary made him a favorite among friends and colleagues.
In everything he did, drawing, speaking, Reshad was sincere, dedicated and himself. He was a man who knew how to combine the seriousness of life and the lightness of laughter, who knew how to find a grain of goodness and inspiration in every situation.
As he once said: “Caricature is my revolt against reality — but also my smile in spite of it.”
