THE HUMOR VS CORONAVIRUS ′′

515 artists from 70 countries

The Calicomix Foundation and El Bando Creativo held the international cartoon contest “Humor vs. Coronavirus ”, because humor raises the defenses, reduces pain and improves self-esteem. The great final balance resulted in: 1,388 works received, from 515 cartoonists, from 71 countries.

The jury was integrated by: John A. Lent USA, César Carrizo, Argentina; Luis Gantus, Mexico; Pablo Marcos, Peru and “Matador” from Colombia.

The Calicomix Foundation is a collective to live art, through different cultural expressions. Caricature, Literature, Illustration and COMIX, are the disciplines that make up his lines of creation. The advertising agency El Bando Creativo is proudly from Valle del Cauca, specialized in social and environmental marketing with more than 20 years of experience. These two greats of culture joined forces to give life to the cartoon contest, on the occasion of the current situation.

At the Calicomix 2020 International Festival, which begins on August 28, there will be a virtual exhibition with the 100 best cartoons from the “Humor vs. Coronavirus ”. In addition to: conferences, the Third Meeting of Urban Sketchers, workshops, live cartoonists and a tribute to the 25 years of Magola (Nani Mosquera) and Mayra (Martha Elena Hoyos).
