Nezih Danyal is one of the important names in cartoon publishing in our country. Danyal, who is also the founder of the Cartoon Foundation, published many cartoonists’ albums and turned them into books in addition to his own drawings.
Nezih Danyal did not only become famous with his own cartoons, he also published cartoonists’ albums. Cartoon lovers definitely have his albums and the albums he published in their libraries.
Nezih Danyal was born in İzmit in 1945. He won many national and international awards. An exhibition called ’50 Years in Stripes’ was opened about him. His cartoons were used in many places.
He has drawn over 100 cartoons since 1960. He founded the Cartoon Foundation in Ankara in 1994.
Nezih Danyal published numerous cartoon books between 1995 and 2015 through the foundation he founded and managed. Among these publications, the symposium books he regularly held for 20 years as part of the ‘International Ankara Cartoon Festival’, which examine the relationship between cartoons and different disciplines such as philosophy, art, politics, informatics and communication, are important resource books for those interested in cartoon art. Nezih Danyal also published the first albums of some famous Turkish cartoonists who had not yet published any cartoon albums within the scope of the International Ankara Cartoon Festival.
Nezih Danyal contributed to the promotion of Turkish cartoons abroad with the album ‘Hey Turkey!’ (1999) and series-exhibitions, which were among the publications of the Cartoon Foundation.

Nezih Danyal worked at TRT for many years and prepared cartoons and caricatures for various programs. Starting in 1991, for seven years, he prepared and presented the “Cartoon of the Week” in the program “The Day Begins” and pioneered the art of cartooning to be loved by the masses. During this period, he published a companion book called “Let’s Draw Cartoons” for children and those new to cartooning.
