(08 September 2019 – Kyrenia) Turkish Cypriot Cartoon Artist Hüseyin Çakmak’s open personal cartoon exhibition took place at the 10th Beşparmaklar Culture and Art Days organized by Çatalköy Municipality.
On September 06, 2019, at 19.30, Hüseyin Çakmak’s 60 caricatures are on display at the personal cartoon exhibition opened in the village square in Çatalköy. It is learned that the cartoon exhibition will remain open in the coming weeks
Born in 1964 in Nicosia Huseyin Cakmak, cartoons GR in Turkey in 1976 – GR began thanks to the humor magazine. Since 1983, his cartoons have been published in many newspapers and magazines in Cyprus.
In 1986, Hüseyin Çakmak founded the Turkish Cypriot Cartoonists Association with 5 cartoonist friends and was elected as its president. His cartoons were exhibited in 190 cities in 70 countries; international albums, newspapers and magazines.
He has won 165 awards in national and international cartoon competitions and has been elected cartoonist of the year many times. He was the president of the Turkish Cypriot Cartoonists Association for 23 years. He is currently the Secretary General of the Turkish Cypriot Cartoonists Association.
