“Nakhchivan – The Cradle of Humankind” International Art Contest

Nakhchivan the land of Azerbaijan is famous with its examples of ancient and contemporary art. In different periods of history this land gave notable persons to the treasury of world culture.
Nakhchivan has 5 thousand year of city culture. Being the national properties, the monuments give a special beauty to this land. The culture pearls created here astonishes those who see them. It is difficult to create these pearls but protecting and delivering them from generation to generation is more difficult and glorious mission. Like in the other cultural examples, renovation and restoration works of the architectural monuments are carried out.
Artists’ Union of Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan invites artists to participate in International Art Festival going to be held in this mysterious land.
1.The purpose of Contest.
The purpose of contest is the determination of candidates to be participated in International Art Festival “Nakhchivan –The Cradle of Humankind” going to be held during 18-20 June 2012 in Nakhchivan city the capital of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
2. The organizer of the competition.
The organizer of the competition is Artists’ Union of Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan. The winners of the contest will have the right to participate in the International Art Festival “Nakhchivan –The Cradle of Humankind” will be held in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Hotel and meal expenses undertaken by the organizer of the festival. The contest winners will be notified with detailed information on rules and time.
3. The period of the competition (via Internet)

Acceptance of art works for contest: 10 April-10 May 2012 year.
Announcement of winners: 20 May 2012 year.
4. Terms of submission of the artworks.
3-paintings with any technique used can be sent to the competition (the title is free). Copyright of the work must belong to the person sending the work. Artwork should be accomplished during the last 3 years; only JPG format maximum of 500 kb size, the author’s name, work title, dimensions, and materials used should be included.
Those who wish to participate in the competition fill in the “ParticipantApplication” and send 3 artworks together to nartfestival2012@gmail.com . Latest news about the competition will be posted on the website http://nakhchivanartfestival.blogspot.com.
5. Evaluation of works of artworks.
The jury consists of highly qualified specialists in the field of painting and art.
6. Prize
The winners of the competition will have the right to participate in the International Art Festival “Nakhchivan –The Cradle of Humankind” will be held in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Diplomas of Artists’ Union of Autonomous Republic and prizes to the winners will be presented during the art festival.
