Cartoons are an act of provocation, a form of criticism; capable of defending freedom through humor.
Caminos de la Libertad (Paths of Freedom) invites reflection and discussion on various aspects of freedom, generating thought around it and making those who have not yet realized its value in their lives aware of it.
Freedom is the fundamental right of every human being, but efforts to limit it have become systematic in the contemporary world. There is no more direct and effective form of communication than cartoons.
Since their inception, they have been a tool for critiquing and analyzing the reality of our world.
In the pursuit of fostering debate on freedom, Grupo Salinas announces the cartoon contest.
GUIDELINES:
Individuals from any part of the world can participate in this contest.
Entries must be entirely original and unpublished. If they include text, it should be in Spanish. Entries should not be simultaneously participating in any other contest, and adaptations of other originals will not be accepted.
Freedom must be the theme of the cartoon. The winning works will be those that best portray, analyze, contrast, promote, and disseminate freedom. They should offer proposals to expand freedom options in Mexican society or present examples of success and failure in the application of this right.
Each participant can submit as many entries as they wish.
Entries should be submitted in JPEG format with the best possible resolution.
Entries must be signed with a pseudonym.
The author must send, in the same email as their entry, a file with the pseudonym, the cartoon’s title, the author’s full name, address, occupation, phone number, email address, and a brief biographical summary.

This call for entries is valid from today until March 31, 2024.
The composition of the jury will remain confidential until the announcement of the results.
The contest results will be disclosed on the website www.caminosdelalibertad.com. Winners will be notified directly via the provided address, phone number, or email.
Contestants whose works are chosen for publication must sign the necessary documentation that will be provided.
The jury’s decision is final. The prize may be declared vacant if the jury deems that none of the submitted works has sufficient quality. The jury is empowered to resolve any situation related to the contest not specified in these guidelines.
Prizes:
First place: MX$ 30,000
Second place: MX$ 20,000
Third place: MX$ 10,000
These prizes can be claimed upon fulfilling the tax requirements of Mexico and the contestant’s country of origin.
15. Up to seven honorable mentions, without cash prizes, will be awarded to works that, in the judges’ opinion, have sufficient quality.
If the prize mentioned in this call for entries is not claimed within three months from the publication date on the official Caminos de la Libertad website (www.caminosdelalibertad.com) and its social media, Caminos de la Libertad may allocate the prize amount for its purposes, without the winner being able to make subsequent claims of any nature.
Any entry that does not comply with the established guidelines will be disqualified.
Participation in this contest implies acceptance of these guidelines. Recognitions or prizes will not be awarded, and the works of participants who do not comply with the established guidelines in this call for entries will not be published.
