The cartoon by  sevket Yalaz (Turkey) has been chosen as eligible for the award of 2000$
by the jury composed of cartoonists Tan Oral, Stephen Mumberson (England), Prof. Atila
ozer, ozel Rozental, Ercan Akyol, Kamil Masaraci, Prof. Dr. Efser Kerimoglu (Psiychiatrist),
Muhahammet sengoz and Nezih Danyal.
17th International Ankara Cartoon Festival is organized for children between the ages of
7-17. The goal of this year’s festival, with the contribution of both Turkish and Foreign
Cartoonists, is to combine Turkish and foreign cartoonists with children and to display
both their cartoon works prepared for children and cartoons drawn by the children
themselves during the festival. The aim of The International 7-77 Cartoon Competition
during the festival is to make children -the adults of tomorrow- love cartooning, to
contribute to the development of their awareness of humour and to enrich their world with
cartoons. For the competition, 923 cartoons have been drawn and sent for children by the
master cartoonists from 68 countries.
